WILMINGTON RETURNS TO THE UNION.
At a large meeting called by the Mayor and attended by the most prominent citizens of Wilmington, it was resolved to acknowledge the authority ofthe United States. The Mayor in his closing speech said "Let us to-night forget and forgive all past political differences and live only for the future, resolving that henceforth it shall he our aim and object to secure peace, promote prosperity, and add to the glory and grandeur of our common country." This was greeted with applause.
