CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of The Colonist.
Sir, —The one-sidedness of the Examiner's reports of public meetings was never more apparent than that in this morning's paper, the key to which may be found by the following commencement of the two proposers' and candidates' speeches— " Edward William Stafford, Esq., who was received with much applause." " Mr. Charles Parker said." " Mr. Barnicoat who was received with much applause." " Mr. Saunders said." The reporter, however, omits the speech of a person who reminded me of reading of the American tailor, who was so absent in mind that he made a goose of himself and didn't discover his mistake until he heard a considerable amount of hissing.
