We have pleasure in publishing the documents, below, which speak for themselves. In connection with this subject, we just hint to the powers that be that there are certain public buildings which may soon be got ready for the reception of iurther instalments from Taranaki. Nelson, August 13th, 1860. We, the undersigned Carpenters and others employed at the Government Offices having beeu informed that a building is to be erected here as a place of refuge for the Taranaki settlers expelled from their homes in consequence of the present war, do hereby otter to give two days' labor gratuitously to any building that may be erected for that purpose.
