The reserve is composed of the Montebello, 120 guns; the Friedlarid, 120 guns; the Souverain, 120 guns; the Fleurus, 100 guns ;'■ the Navarjn, TOO a guns ', the Prince Jerome, 100 guns j the Jena, 90 ! guns; the Carlemagne, 90 guvs; and the Duperre, 82 d guns. 1 use the term reserve although the authorities c declare the ships to be laid up in ordinary; for they '" are moored stern on to the quay on which are their 'f guns, arranged in order and ticketed ready foi'shipment. The stores are all stowed away ready at.hand y and the crews are in Toulon, ready to be marched on d board.
