TE AWAMUTU CRICKET CLUB REVIEW IN ANNUAL REPORT In his annual report to the Te Awamutu Cricket Club, the president, Mr W. J. Edwards, commenced that the* club nau done very well in the past season. It had been represented by two teams in the A section and by one' in the B section, in the A‘ section Rovers had won with 38 points, Wanderers were second Wivn 36 points and Frontier Road third with 3& points. Ramblers, the club team in the B section tied for second place, with 23 points, with Wharepuhunga. Players who were selected in the Waipa team from the ciub were iviessi-L' McMahon, Barton, Evans, Finn, Barnett, Ramsboitom, McManem*n, White and Pacey, while Messrs McMahon, Barton and Evans were selected for the Waikato team. “It- is with pleasure that I place on record tne inclusion of Mr Noel as a New Zealand representative,” said Mr Edwards. A cricket bag was presented to Mr McMahon to mark this occasion and he also received several bats from admirers in recognition of his score of 102 against an- Australian eleven on the 2znd of February this year. He was also awarded the Gibbons Trophy for the third year in succession as the outstanding batsman of the season. The thanks of the club were also extended to the Waipa Association for improving the standard of the Mvickets before the beginning of the season. Mr Edwards also extended thanks to the executive and all others who co-operated to make the season a successful one and trusted that cricketers, past and present, would continue to show their interest in the game.
