The Late Mrs Wakelin
A correspondent writing from Frontier Road states that Mrs Ada Wakelin who died at Whau Valley Road, Whangarei, last week, was formerly Miss Going and not Tristram, as stated in the obituary notice in last Wednesday’s issue. Mrs Wakelin, the writer states, was the youngest daughter of Captain John Going, one of the very early settlers of Whangarei. She was first married to Mr John Evans, of Ruatangata East, and after his death she married Mr Henry Wakelin who was secretary of the Whangarei Dairy Company for many years.
