AID FOR BRITAIN
MR J. A. KAY’S GENEROUS GIFTS? LETTERS OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT AND PHOTOGRAPHS RECEIVED Many months ago Mr J. A. Kay, of Korakonui, sent to Britain, the most valuable gift of one hundred and forty-three Lambs. The value received was £219 and the Commonwealth Gift Centre in London purchased one Hundred and seventeen parcels. Mr Kay recently received from (he recipients of the paTcels vary grateful letters of thanks and appreciation. Many of the writers sent personal photographs and picture postcards of the towns in which they live. All the letters breathe a spirit of deep gratitude that must have been a great source of satisfaction and pride to Mr Kay and those expressive letters are worth something that money cannot buy. The Gift Centre also sent some beautiful photographs showing the distribution of the parcels to some of the recipients and a placard bearing the inscription “Gift from James A. Kay, Te Awamutu, New Zealand” has an honoured place in the photograph. Other photos include those of individual recipients and they form a permanent and pleasing record of a generous action by a generous resident of this rich district of Te Awamutu.
