MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report that at their weekly stock sale held at Moirinsviile last Friday, fat sheep were yarded in average numbers and prices were on a par with recent ruling values, while a small number of store hoggets sold very well. The advertised 2-th ewes from Hawke’s Bay were in keen demand, and prices realised were in advance of recent high values. A good entry of fat cows and heifers sold to strong demand and values remained fully firm. A full yarding of boner cows and bulls sold at recent quotations. The advertised line of yearling Jersey heifers attracted a large attendance of buyers, and the whole line sold freely at spring values. Another full yarding of both fat and store pigs was penned. Bidding for baconers and porkers was again very spirited, prices remaining firm. Competition for store and weaner pigs was very keen, prices improving on last week’s rates, while choppers also sold well. Sheep: Fat woolly hoggets £2 18s, fat shorn hoggets 41s to 43s 6d, fat ewes to 29s 6d, fat lambs to 37s 6d, good store wethers 39s to 40s Id, everage 37s to 38s, best 2-th owes 53s to 555, average 50s to 525, smaller 47s to 495.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report that at their stock sale held at Te Awamutu last Thursday, a light entry of fat sheep sold keenly at recent ruling values. Ox, cow and heifer beef was penned in good numbers. Prime bullocks sold keenly at recent firm rates, while cow and heifer beef was very keen of sale, selling at values well in advance of recent quotations. Boner cows were not in demand and here values were much easier. Fat pigs were yarded in average numbers, baconers, for which the demand was very keen, comprising most of the yarding. Porkers and buttermilk pigs sold fully up to recent quotations. A medium entry of store pigs also sold at late rates. Sheep: Fat shorn hoggets £2 to £2 Is, fat shorn B-F. hoggets and smaller 38s 9d to 39s 6d.
