BOWLING
CHAMPIONSHIP PAIRS A further three rounds of the Te Awamutu Bowling Club championship pairs was completed on Saturday under good conditions. Five matches were played in the fourth round in the morning and this round reduced the field to seven pairs. After two more rounds only three pairs remained, being those skipped by Catley (twolifer), Grant and Hopping. Results of Saturday’s games were:— Fourth Round Smith and Hopping beat R. Hinton and Thomson, K. Clarke and Greenough beat Wyllie and McConkey, Waning and Gray beat Galloway and Andrew, Teece and Sterritt beat Judd and. Free, Brightwell and Grant beat Hughes and Holland. Broad and Catley a bye. Fifth Round Broad and Catley beat K. Clarke and Greenough, Teece and Sterritt beat Warring and Gray, Brightwell and Grant beat R. Hinton and Thomson, Smith and Hopping a bye. Sixth 1 Round Broad arid Catley beat Smith and Hopping, Brightwell and Grant beat Teece and Sterritt.
