The Rev. Father Kelly, of Hamilton spent a short holiday in Te Awamutu this week. Mr E. H. Cucksey has been elected a member of the Committee of the Waikato Trotting Club. Mfr H. Andrew, of Te Awamutu, has been elected vice-president of the Waikato branch of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand. Miss U. Crosswell, of Gisborne, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs L. B. Coker. Mahoe Street, returns home to-morrow. The Rev. Dr Delargey, Director of the Catholic Youth Movement in Auckland, is visiting Te Awamutu this week-end in the course of his work. The engagement is announced of Eric, only son of Mr and Mrs A. H. West, Birkenhead, Auckland, and Edith, only daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Broad, Ngahape. Mr Mackintosh has been gazetted as registrar of brands for the Waikato branding district for the purposes of the Stock Act, 1908, and Mr G. X. Kent has been appointed to a similar position for the Waitomo and Taupo branding districts. The Rev. Matthew L. Calder, Vicar of Taradale, has accepted the living of Waipawa in succession to the Rev. Raymond C. Aires. Mr Calder previously served at Te Awamutu and at St John’s Cathedral, Napier, before being appointed Vicar of Taradale five years ago.
