TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co. Ltd., report on their Te Awamutu stock sale held on Thursday. Fat cattie were yarded in good numbers. Both ox beef and cow beef met a ready demand selling at values on a par with recent sales. Store and boner cattle showed no alteration in value. A good entry of dairy cattle, mostly of quality 2-yr heifers for which competition 1 was very keen. Close heifers selling to £2B. Sheep were yarded in good numbers. Fat wethers were not so keen of sale, but realised values on a par with Frankton quotations. The advertised store hoggets were keenly sought, prices being in advance of recent sales. A small yarding of fat pigs and a large penning of store pigs came forward, values in the fat section were on a par with recent sales while store pigs were again in keen demand.

Realisations for ail classes of fat sheep were firm, while in the beef- sections, prices were firm on late quotations at the central ’yards. There was a good enquiry for quality and close to profit Jersey heifers and these sold freely at firm values. An average yarding of pigs comprising mostly stores changed hands at unchanged prices any alterations being in favour of vendors.
