OHAUPO STOCK SALE Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd, report a heavy yarding of all classes of Jersey cattle descriptions at their stock sale at Ohaupo on Friday the 26th August. HAMILTON STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited report that at the weekly stock sale held at Hamilton on Tuesday a large yarding of fat wethers did not include as many well finished sheep as last week and prices were considerably lower. Fat ewes were also easier but fat lamb values remained firm. Ox beef was penned in good numbers, but the bulk of the yarding comprised light-weight bullocks and a number ox unfinished pens. There was a good demand for prime cattle but values generally were a shade easier. A good average yarding of cow and heifer beef was freely competed for. Values for prime, heifers were slightly firmer, while the market for cows remained steady at firm rates. A lighter yarding of both fat and store pigs was offered, top baconers improving on last week’s values. Porkers and light to medium baconers remained firm at recent late rates, while store and weaner pigs also sold at prices on a par with last week’s high values.
