USE FOR TRANSIT HOUSING LETTER FROM MINISTER OF FINANCE The Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Nash, in a letter that was before Monday night’s meeting of the Te Awamutu Borough Council, acknowledged details of the Council’s proposals for the utilisation of th'e Te Awamutu Air Station as additional transit housing. “You may be assured -* that in the circumstances outlined I will be pleased to render any assistance possible. I have asked the Com- , missioner of Works to let, me have a report upon the current position and as soon as this is to hand a decision will be given”, stated Mr Nash. No comment followed the reading of the letter beyond a statement that they would have to wait the outcome of the promised report.
