FIFTEEN IN CUP EVENT

Very satisfactory entries have been received by the Te Awamutu Light Horse Association for its picnic race meeting to be held on the Te Awamutu racecourse on Saturday. In view of the poor response that has been accorded to most crosscountry events in the province this season it is not surprising that the steeplechases did not attract more competitors. However, with well-filled fields in other events and some good class trotting promised, the response is very pleasing.
