Mrs H. Fraser, of Remuera, and formerly a resident of the township, is at present re-visiting Kawhia. Miss M. Mosley, of Marokopa, has been appointed relieving mistress at the Kinohaku School. Taken ill as he was driving his truck back to Taumarunui from the Tokaanu bush workings, Mr J. H. Marriner was later removed to the Taumarunui Hospital, where he underwent an appendix operation that night. M;r M'arriner, who is a Maori All Black Rugby footballer and plays for the Athletic Club, Taumarunui, will not be able to play football during the coming season. He had been mentioned as a certainty for the Maori All Black team to tour Australia this year. His general condition has improved.
