Car Causes Speculation
An imposing car, chauffeur-driven, created some interest and speculation during its brief stay in Te Awamutu on Monday. .Various guesses were made as to the passengers. Mr Anthony Eden being a popular pick. The car was being used by an English banking and shipping executive. Chamber of Commerce Members of the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce present at the first meeting of 1949, which was held in the borough offices last night, were: The president Mr S. H. Wankiyn, Messrs G. Clark, W. Tootill, W. A. Trask, N. A. Truscott, A. G. Warburton, J. Ansell, E. Freed, L. GArmstrong, A. Duncalf, H. Hawley, G. E. Warburton. W. Hannah, N. Irving, and Dr J. B. W. Roberton. The secretary, Mr K. S. Kelly, was absent through illness, and his place was taken by Mr J. Parker.
