Need For Care The need for care in the handling of all electrical apparatus is emphasised by an accident which occurred recently in a local engineering works, when an employee sustained a severe electric shock as a result of using equipment which was connected to the main power supply system by a damaged plug. Power supply authorities are constantly endeavouring to minimise electrical hazards, and are concerned that damaged plant both household and industrial should not be used. It is recognised that thereare some shortages in electrical equipment, but this does not apply to portable apparatus. The authorities advise that in the installation or repair of all electrical equipment the services of qualified technicians should be obtained, to obviate possible hazards deriving from the work of amateurs.
