MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers! Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports as follows on the firm’s sale held at Morrinsville on Friday last:— iSheep: A large supply of fat sheep included mostly hoggets, and prices were firm on last week’s quotations. Light fat shorn wethers sold to 42s 6d, fat ewes 31s to 33s 6d, heavy fat hoggets 48s to 53s 9d, medium 42s to 465, light 34s to 38s, shorn store hoggets 325. Cattle: A small entry of fat cows sold at firm values, and a good entry of store and boner cows also sold freely. Empty Jersey heifers were in good demand, and a larger yarding of these sold at satisfactory values. There was only a moderate demand for the offering of Polled Angus yearlings, and some pens were passed in. Dairies: There was a full yarding of dairy cattle; competition was not so keen as last week, and prices were inclined to ease slightly. Fat young Jersey cows and heifers made £8 15s to £l3, boner cows £5 to £7 15s 6d, empty two-year Jersey heifers £5 10s to £7 19s, good-quality yearling Jersey heifers £9 7s 6d to £lO 17s, smaller good-coloured heifers £5 15s to £6 10s, Polled Angus cows and calves £ll, yearling Polled Angus steers £7 5s to £9, yearling Polled Angus heifers £5 17s 6d to £6.

Dairies: Good-quality Jersey heifers £l9 to £2O 10s, medium quality £l6 to £l7 10s, good calved heifers £lB to £2O, average pens £l3 to £l6, Jersey cows 11 to £l4. Pigs: Another good yarding of all classes of pigs was penned, baconers and porkers selling on a par with last week’s quotations-; the demand for stores and weaners was not so keen as at other sales, prices easing slightly. Heavy choppers made £7 to £9, others £3 10s to £6 ss, prime heavy baconers £6 18s. to £7, heavy £6 10s to £6 16s, medium £6 to £6 Bs, light £5 10s to £5 16s, heavy porkers and butter-milk pigs £4 10s to £5 6s, medium £4 to £4 Bs, light £3 10s to £3 16s, large stores £3 to £3 Bs, smaller £2 10s to £2 16s, slips £1 18s 6d to £2 5s 6d, weaners £1 to £1 14s 6d, ‘sows'in farrow £6 to £7 ss, sows with litters £5 to £l6 10s.
