POWER BOARD PRAISED
RETICULATION OF DISTRICT COMMENT BY RURAL COUNCIL “The Council is impressed with the work done by the Te Awamutu Electric Power Board in reticulating the various areas in its large territory,” stated Mr F. T. M. Kissel, chairman of the Rural. Electricity Reticulation Council, when interviewed by a Courier representative this morning. “Such work is in the opinion of the council, not excelled by any other power board,” continued Mr Kissel, who went on to say that the class of country yet to be reticulated by the board was from the council’s viewpoint of a very desirable type and the work would be subsidised if such was necessary. Mr Kissel’s views were endorsed by other members of the council.
Mr Kissel, accompanied by the Hon. R. Masters, Messrs Lyons, Murray, Bearman (secretary), members of the council, and Mr Calderwell, district electrical engineer (Hamilton), arrived m Te Awamutu yesterday and visited the Moerangi Road area and Hauturu, and they were accompanied by members of the power board and executive officers. At Moerangi Road the party was entertained by the residents to dinner at the residence of Mr Cameron. At both places the council received deputations and heard various representations.
