COLLEGE CONCERT HALL
USE SOUGHT BY JUNIOR REPERTORY SOCIETY An application from the Te Awamutu Junior Repertory Society for the use of the Te Awamutu College Assembly Hall, which was previously granted prior to the epidemic restrictions, was received on Wednesday night by the Committee of Management, and permission was again given for the use of the Hall, subject to the approval of the Education Board. The approval of the board is necessitated by the fact of the Society’s inability to meet insurance commitments which are now a factor in the hire of the Hall.
The chairman (Mr F. Waters) commented that the Society had over 100 members, including many pupils of the school, and he thought that a departure from the conditions laid down normlally for the use of the Hall was warranted. Mr S. H. West said he thought it would be a great pity to see the Junior Repertory Movement fall through for lack of a hall, as it was doing a valuable service for the school as well as its own society. The committee resolved to write to the Education Board stating the position.
