Fire Protection
The Principal, Mr H. Rochfort, stated at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Te Awamutu College Committee of Management that there were at present no fire extinguishers at the school. The matter, of their provision had been referred back and forth between various organisations without result. At one time it was proposed to locate a water pipe-line near the College building, but this also had not eventuated. The meeting agreed that steps should be taken to have the situation remedied.
Costly Sports Wear Socks for football players cost 16s 6d a pair, commented a member of the Te Awamutu College Committee of Management, when the high cost of sports wear was brought up during a discussion on the school’s sports levy, at Wednesday night’s meeting of the committee. An annual donation of £1 is required of pupils at the College for the provision of football jerseys and similar items, and opportunity has been given to boys to purchase their own jerseys from the school’s supply.
