Phillips, on the occasion of their silver wedding, were entertained by their friends at a social evening in Marokopa Hall, when every part of the Kawhia South district was represented. He asked them to accept from their many friends throughout the district a gift of cutlery. Mr Phillips suitably acknowledged the fine sentiments expressed and thanked all for their handsome gift.
