LAID TO REST
LATE MR S. J. NOBES COUNCIL COLLEAGUES ACT AS PALL-BEARERS A large and representative gathering of citizens filled St. John’s Anglican Church and met at the grave-side to pay their last tributes of respect to the late Mr S. J. Nobes. There was a large representation of Red Cross Society members, and the Bowling Club among the congregation in the church. The services were conducted by the Vicar, the Rev. J. D. Hogg. In accordance with the wishes of the deceased there were no floral tributes. The pall-bearers were the Mayor Mr G. Spinley, Councillors W. F. Woodward, F. Parsons, G. S. Clarke, E. Hopping and the Town Clerk Mr T. H. Millar.
