The latest Gazette contains notification that Lieutenant - Colonel (Temp.) J. Oliphant, M.C., New Zealand Temporary Staff, has been posted to the retired list with the rank of lieutenant-colonel,- dating from August 30, 1946. Mr Oliphant, who until early in the war years resided at Te Awamutu, was recently appointed chairman of the Hamilton Land Sales Committee.
