School Committee Meetings
School committees may make their own rules about procedure, according to advice received from the Education Department by the Canterbury School Committees’ Association last week. • As a general rule, meetings were open to householders, the letter said; but committees were entitled to exclude non-members if they wished to discuss * confidential business. Previously the Education Board had advised that none of its regulations covered the matter. A delegate had asked whether parents were entitled to listen to the discussions of school committees.
