BEEF PRICES ADVANCE STORE CATTLE TN KEEN DEMAND New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., report having conducted their tri-weekly Te Awamutu stock sale on Thursday, when an exceptionally large entry of cattle were penned. Sheep and pigs came forward in average numbers. The entry of beef comprised quality cattle, both in the male and female section, and brisk competition from local and outside butchers made prices advance £2 per head on late sales. The advertised entry of 55 store cattle on account of Mr D. Fullerton attracted a lot cf interest and met with keen comeptition* at advanced prices. The line averaged £lO 15s. A line of mixpd age ewes sold on behalf of Mr J. Spraggs realised 255. Two outstanding trucks of bullocks, sold on behalf of Mr John Peake, made the excellent average of £2l 2s 6d and £2O 2s 6d. Nicely finished medium weight bullocks, sold cn behalf of Mr Lyall Kay, Parawera, sold at prices from £lB 5s down to £l7- Quality bullocks sold on behalf of Mr Guy Wellington made prices ranging to £l7 ss. Two outstanding P.A. heifers sold on behalf of Mr J. W. Dean, made £l5. S.H. heifers sold on behalf of Mr Gordon Walker made prices from £ll Ils to £ll 15s. Good quality Hereford heifers sold on behalf of Mr H. O. Kay, sold at prices to £ll 10s- Fat Jersey cows made from £7 to £9. Best weaner Jersey calves £5 to £3. Others £4 10s to £4 17s 6d. Best in-calf heifers £lO 10s to £l2. Sheep:—fat wethers 35s to 38s 6d, medium fat wether: 32s to 33s 6d, store wethers 27s to 295, fat hoggets 26s to 28s 6d, lighter hoggets 22s to 255, storej hoggets 18s to 21s. Pigs:—choppers £5 10s to £6 17s 6d, heavy baconers £5 5s to £5 16s, medium baconers £4 17s to £5 2s, porkers £3 10s to £4 6s, stores 38s to £2 6s, slips 30s to £1 14s.
