Five-day Week in Army
As far as possible, Army establishments in New Zealand are now working a five-day week. Saturday work has been eliminated for as many personnel as possible, consistent with maintaining the efficiency of essential services and administration. In many cases wiiere it is necessary to have men on duty the roster system has been introduced, officers taking it in turns to report on Saturday mornings to attend to the running of their particular branches.
