YARD AND CLEARING SALES MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports as follows on the firm’s usual weekly stock sale at Morrinsville, held last Friday:— Sheep: A medium yarding of sheep again met prices on a par with recent quotations. Medium prime fat wethers made 34s to 34s 6d, blackface prime hoggets to 30s 9d, fat ewes to 23s 9d, prime fat lambs to 32s 9d, light 25s 9d to 28s 3d, medium store lambs 14s 6d to 16s 3d, cull lambs 8s 7d to 10s. Cattle: A good entry of all classes of cattle was penned, and again created keen competition, with values for all classes on a par with those at late sales. Dairies; The advertised herds of dairy cattle were in good order, and With competition from a full bench of buyers values in this, section remained steady. Loan’ ahd Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., conducted the displenishing sale of the “Maple” pedigree Jersey cattle on accodnt of Messrs J. H. Sherard and Sons at the.Stud, Ohinewai, Waikato. There was a large and representative attendance of breeders and buyers from all parts of the Waikato and Auckland provinces and competition throughout the sale was keen. The catalogued offering of 70 pedigree Jersey cattle comprised mainly of heifers and mature cows, also several yearling and 2 yr. old bulls. Rising 2 yr. heifers sold from 20 gns. to 45 gns., mature cows sold from 18 gns. to 47 gns. with yearling and 2 yr. bulls selling from 35 gns. to 50 gns- The whole of the offering was disposed of under the hammer at satisfactory values. Mr Alan Hom of the Stud Stock Department of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. acted as sales manager, with Messrs J. E. Aurisch and C. E. Robertson officiating in the rostrum. HAMILTON STOCK SALE The Farmery’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited reports: At their weekly stock sale held at Hamilton yesterday a medium yarding of fat sheep came forward, the greater proportion being plain and unfinished sorts. Good quality wethers were firmer, while others were on a par with late rates- Good butchers’ ewes Were in keen demand and values rose from last week’s level, others remaining firm. Fat lambs again sold freely at late rates. A large yarding of store sheep was penned, the entry comprising mostly lambs for which advanced prices were offered. Store wethers sold well at prices firmer than late rates. In the cattle section ox beef was penned in average numbers and the entry included several pens of extra choice quality bullocks. Bidding was slower and values eased by £1 per head. Only medium quality cattle comprised the entry of cow and heifer beef which showed little variation in values. A small entry of veal of mixed quality sold at late quotations. A light yarding of pigs came forward, all classes selling on a par with recent rates. MATAMATA STOCK SALE A medium entry of sheep and a full yarding of all classes of cattle came forward at Messrs Dalgety and Company’s stock sale held at Matamata on Wednesday last. Competition in both sections was steady and for fat stock, values remained unchanged at quotations firm on late

rates. There was little alteration in prices for store stock. Light penning of both fat and store pigs changed hands at prices oq a par with recent quotations.
