MISUNDERSTANDINGS
FEDERATED FARMERS AND FARMERS UNION STATEMENT BY MR A. E. BRYANT In Friday’s Courier a head-line of Mr Cooksley’s address to the Federated Farmers’ conference at Hamilton, is very misleading, stated Mr A. E. Bryant, president of the Te Awamutu branch of the Farmers’ Union, this morning. The headlines, “Offer Rejected,” are contrary to the Herald on Wednesday, where the .words “Arbitration Accepted” were used in that press statement. The Auckland executive of Farmers’ Union (Auckland Province) have recommended to their conference delegates, who have the final say, and also to the Federated Farmers’ Dominion Council, that the Auckland executive Farmers’ Union accept the principle of arbitration of all points at issue provided that the order of reference does not exclude any matters in dispute. [Note: The heading “Offer Rejected” was used by two other papers in addition to the Courier.—Editor.]
