TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE Newton King Ltd. report as follows on their To Awamutu stock sale held on Thursday last:—Yarding facilities were fully taxed at the above sale, fully advertised numbers coming forward. Values generally were inclined to be easier as in sympathy with other markets but vendors generally came forward and met the market, there being practically a total clearance. A large entry of Jersey yearling heifers commanded good interest buyers from as far as the Wairarapa being in attendance. Sheep were penned in large numbers, values being on a par with Frankton quotations. Cattle: Light prime bullocks £l5 10s to £l6 10s, 3 to 4-year P.A.-Hereford steers £l3 5s to £l4 ss, other 3-year P.A. steers £l2 5s to £l3, best 2-year P.A. steers £lO 10s to £ll 13s, medium P.A. steers £9 15s to £lO ss, best yearling P.A. steers £9 to £9 16s, medium yearling P.A. steers £8 10s to £8 16s, small yearling P.A. steers £7 8s to £8 ss, 2-year empty P.A. heifers £8 10s to £9 9s, yearling P.A. heifers £5 4s to £6 6s, fat heifers £lO 15s to £l4 7s 6d, fat cows to £8 13s, yearling Jersey heifers (best) £8 10s to £9 6s, medium £7 to £8 ss, small and unfinished £5 6s to £5 16s. Dairies: Best dairy heifers £l4 to £l5 15s, medium £ll 10s to £l3 10s, small £8 10s to £ll, best cows £lO to £l3s, others £8 to £9 15s.
