PATRIOTIC CONCERT
AN EXCELLENT PROGRAMME Those who were fortunate enough to attend the Muncipial Orchestra’s patriotic concert at the Empire Theatre last evening were rewarded with a very enjoyable and much appreciated function. The beautiful solos, duets, and trios presented by Mesdames H. Steer, GBlackler, and H. M. Andrew were outstanding. Miss Diana Wall proved her ability as an accompanist, and Dr K. N. Hiskens pleased with his clarionet obligato to the solo by Mrs Steer. The Orchestra again proved its capabilities. The generosity of the management of the Empire Theatre in providing several short and interesting films was also appreciated, and the Patriotic Committee has expressed to the artists concerned, also to Mr and Mrs J. H. Ansell and Mi’ J. Slater (operator) and the Municipal Orchestra its thanks for verv valued assistance.
