WASTE PAPER

APPEAL FOR SUPPLIES TE AWAMUTU ASSOCIATION The National Council for Reclamation of Waste Products has issued an urgent call for increased collection of waste paper. This paper is urgently required for pulping down and making into butter boxes and numerous parts of war weapons, as well as supplying the usual every-day needs of the public and business houses. As an incentive to the various collectors the price has been increased from £3 Is 6d to £4 10s per ton for mixed paper. The Te Awamutu Committee asks for a concerted all-in effort to save

as much paper as possible and requests that it be kept as clean as possible.

Recently the Te Awamutu Committee sent 32 bales to Whakatane, and they wish to cordially thank all who contributed and helped to make this possible.

The task of collecting waste paper is a thankless one, but helpers have the satisfaction of knowing that in addition to helping the war effort, all collections help to decrease the amount of money needed to make up the district’s patriotic fund quota.

All spare paper may be sent to the Waste Products Depot in Alexandra Street (opposite the Dairy Factory). Key to depot may be obtained at Sinclair’s Railway Store.
