Mrs M. E; Wotton has been appointed sole teacher at the Wharepuhunga School.

Advice has been received by Mr G. H. Silvester, of Ohaupo, that his son, Lance-Bombardier H. S. Silvester, has been wounded.

Private W. O. Morrow’s mother has received cabled advice from he'r son saying that his injuries are only slight. He was reported wounded in a recent casualty list.

Mr and Mrs H. Willets have left for their home at Whangamata, after spending several weeks as the guests of Mr and Mrs Lewis Nicholson, of Frontier Road.

The many friends of Mr G. S. Hall. Hairini, will reget to learn ihat he is an inmate of the Waikato Hospital, due to an accident at his home on Wednesday, when he hurt his knee severly.

Word has been received from Private T. C. Rae, formerly of Te Awamutu and now a prisoner of war in Stalag 18A, Germany, stating that he is fit and well and receiving parcels regularly. He wishes to be remembered to his friends in this district.
