CAPTAIN J. R. S. SEALY Captain J. R. S. Sealy, whose name appears in a reecnt list of wounded, is the husband of Mrs Sealy, of Hamilton East, who is a daughter of Mrs Charles Parker, of Hairini, and a sister of Mrs B. Gibson, of Te Awamutu. Captain Sealy, who was educated in Egypt, England, and France, is an accomplished linguist, having command of five languages, including Greek. Before the war he held a commission in the Waikato Mounted Rifles, and was one of those chiefly responsible for the high standard attained by the troop. He left for overseas with the Second Echelon in the Fifth Infantry Brigade, with the rank of captain, and was in England for some time before leaving with his unit for Egypt. He went through the campaign in Greece with the Divisional Cavalry, and later in Egypt was attached to the Greek Army. Following a course in Palestine he joined a battalion in Tunisia. Captain Sealy was born in Alexandria, where his mother lives. A brother, an officer in the British Army, is commandant of an Italian prisoner of war camp in Egypt. Captain Sealy’s father lost his life in the last war while serving with the British Navy. Before leaving for overseas Captain Sealy was employed by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company Limited.
