It’s A Terrible War
Believe it or not, this is true. Two mothers meet. One has all three sons serving, the youngest just starting his operational solo flying. Mother No. 2, with one son, got him a job on a farm, an essential occupation and so exempt. Naturally talk turns to the sons, and mother No. 1 expresses her anxiety now that her youngest is flying. “Yes,” says mother No. 2, “I can’t sleep at night worrying about . I’m so afraid he’ll get gored by a bull.”
