MORRINSVILLE STOCK SALE Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their usual weekly sale at Morrinsville on 19th March, when a small yarding of sheep and a large supply of fat Jersey and boner cows came forward. Sheep: In the sheep section the market was quiet, mixed-age ewes making 18s. Cattle: In this department a total clearance was effected at late rates. Fat Jersey cows made £5 to £6, Jersey cows and calves £5 7s 6d to £6, fat Holstein cows £5 to £6 10s, medium fat Jersey Dfeifers £5 to £5 10s, heavy boners £4 to £4 15s, medium £3 to £3 15s, light £2 to £2 15s, inferior.. 10s to £1 ss.

CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited reports as follows: Sheep: At Cambridge on Monday a good yarding of sheep met with a good demand. Fat wethers made 26s to 28s 9d, store lambs 10s to 12s 3d, store ewes 7s to Ils. Cattle: A large offering of fat and boner cows sold at slightly advanced rates, prime Polled Angus heifers on behalf of Mr Geo. Douglas averaging £9. Quotations: Prime fat Polled Angus heifers £8 10s to £9, prime fat cows £5 10s to £6 15s, heavy boner cows £4 5s to £5 7s 6d, medium £3 10s to £4 4s, light £2 10s to £3 7s 6d, potter bulls £4 to £7 10s, medium weaner Jersey heifers £2 10s to £3 7s 6d. Pigs: There was a large yarding of pigs, principally porkers, with a few pens of baconers. Prices for best baconers ranged from £4 10s to £4 15s, light baconers £4 to £4 ss, choppers £4 to £6, porkers £3 5s to £3 12s. A fairly large yarding of stores was penned, but prices were much lower, being from 5s to 12s. FRANKTON SALE The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows on their Frankton sale:— A smaller offering of fat cattle met with a spirited demand, and values advanced. A large entry 'of boner cows sold well, while for an average entry of vealers competition was good. Several pens of weaner Jersey heifers met with a quiet enquiry. Prices were as follows:—Medium fat Polled Angus bullocks £9 10s to £lO 10s, medium fat Shorthorn bullocks £9 5s to £9 17s 6d, fat Pollgd Angus cows £7 10s to £8 ss, fat Shorthorn cows £5 15s to £7 17s 6d, boner cows £3 to £5 ss, potter bulls £4 to £7 10s, runners £3 to £4 10s, vealers £1 to £2 15s.

Competition for prime quality was keen, and prices for this class were in advance of those ruling last week. Unfinished sorts were hard to quit.
