REVIEW WANTED
GUARANTEED PRICE BASIS OF COMPUTATION “That this conference demands an immediate review of the basis of the computation of the guaranteed price for dairy produce, and that it be adjusted annually upon the previous year’s actual butterfat average cream and milk grading production costs, etc.” This remit from the Omokoroa branch was carried unanimously and without discussion at the annual meeting in Tauranga on Friday of the Bay of Plenty Executive of the New Zealand Farmers Union. The view wa s expressed by Mr S. A. Wells, of Katikati, that the whole question of prices should be gone into, and the Government should be asked to take the surplus produce off the farms. There must be a businesslike arrangement with the Government.
Mr Wells moved a motion to this effect, the motion being seconded and carried.
