CATHOLIC FUNCTION

TO AID SCHOOL FUNDS

The bazaar held last Thursday at the Town Hall in aid of St. Patrick’s school proved a great success, competition between the various stalls being very keen. Throughout the day there was a steady stream of buyers visiting the hall and produce of all kinds sold freely. The function continued in the evening for the entertainment of a large crowd and items rendered by the school children were much appreciated by all. As a result of the day the school funds benefitted considerably and the thanks of the organising committee are due to all those who gave donations towards the bazaar.

Following is the list of stalls with those in charge:—

Sweets: Mrs J. Ryan. Needlework: Mesdames 0. O’Brien, R. Noonan, Brian Quin and B- Du Frense.

“Kids ” stall: Margaret Edmonds, Patty Magill and Meg. Malone. Produce: Mesdames J. Sklenars and W. Tootill and Miss T. O’Connor. Mystery parcels: Children of Mary. Cakes: Mesdames B. O’Connor (Ohaupo), B. Ralph, J. Kerin, J. Karl and Miss T. Missen.

The placing of the stalls was “kids,” Children of Mary, fancy, tea rooms, Ohaupo and jumble. Competition winners were:— Soldiers’ parcel: R. Collins. Framed picture (valued £5): P. Bowe.
