MAN’S MISDEEDS
Sir,—Oliver would imply that he has something better than the teachings of Christianity. Why not let us in on it Oliver? I for one am always looking for a good thing. The Bible clearly states that men would continue to follow evil and wax worse during this age and that only a little flock would follow in the footsteps of the Master. I hope Oliver has something that will inspire men’s thoughts to higher thoughts than those of the dumb animals. To deeds like those of the Belgian priest who laid down his life for the lepers. I would ask Oliver if those responsible had followed the teachings of Christ it there would have been any of the persecutions he refers to? I would also remind him that the churches were not the only ones responsible, for persecutions Those who, like Oliver, belittled the Christ were responsible for the reign of terror in the French Revolution and the recent Russian Revolution. Why libel God with man’s misdeeds God did not force the progenitor of our race to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Of course Oliver may have been able to do better than Adam - He probably also would have told God where he got off. There are two quotations I would like to give him: “Out of evil cometh good,” and “God makes the wrath of man to praise Him.” Both are worthy of deep thought. The glib statement of the Christ myth would certainly look better backed by sound reason and logic. Ridicule and scoffing only show inability to produce reason and logic. Well, sir, we hope to hear great things from your correspondent in the near future. New Zealand may yet produce a Confucist or Mahomet. —I am, etc., ROLAND,
