Sir, —-Could you please enlighten me on the following point? What is the position of a girl who is not within the age group now being called up for national service? By volunteering for the armed services, i.e., the Army, is it possible that she could, against her will, be directed to work in essential industry, as I have been led to believe.—l am/etc-, VOLUNTEER. [lt was stated at military headquarters recently that anyone outside the age groups 20-21 years and 22-23 years cannot be directed to work in essential industry if she enlists in the Army.]
