PATRIOTIC REVUE

LONG PROGRAMME PRESENTED PUPILS OF MJSS HAZEL AGNEW, There was a good house at the Empire Theatre on Monday night to witness the staging of the grand patriotic revue presented by the pupils of Miss Hazel Agnew, of Hamilton. The programme was of high order, and perhaps reached its greatest heights in the numbers featuring the vocalists Margaret Rose and Pauline Garrett and the really excellent dancing soloist, Miss Agnew herself. In all there were over twenty items, but due to perfect stage management reflecting itself in rapid change-overs the show was completed by 10 p-m. Dances, ballets, vocal and instrumental numbers, humour, and the larger features, Hawaiian scene, midnight scene, Indian love call, and the grand and effective finale, were all greatly appreciated by the audience, and loudly applaudedThe stage manager was Mr Frank Tipping, the wardrobe mistress Mrs Barbara Tipping, and music was provided by Mr J. Boyce (piano) and Mr A. Ede (drums)-.
