An interesting historical document has been given to the Churchill Auctions in aid of the patriotic funds, the donor being Mr Harcus Plimmer, Wellington. It is a letter written from the House of Commons on March 2, 1865, by Mr John Bright, the famous politician and orator, to Mr W. E. Gladstone, M.P., and occupies two and a half pages. This very rare item should attract considerable interest at the sales. Wise in the ways of coughs and colds, Wise to each phase as each unfolds, Wise in resolve to risk no chance, Wise with provision in advance, Wise in the ways of croup and “ ’flu,” Wise for others who trust to you, Wise with the best to ease assure—- “ First-Aid Woods’ Great Peppermint Cure.”
