LIVE STOCK MARKET SALE AT TE AWAMUTU YESTERDAY’S REALISATIONS The Farmers’ Auctioneering Company report on their sale at Te Awamutu yesterday as follows: Cattle: Beef was in keen demand when a large offering came forward and a successful clearance was effected. Forward condition and store steers also sold freely, while a small offering of young steers met a ready sale. Boner cows sold at full late rates. We quote: Prime ox beef £ll Is to £ll 14s, lighter fat steers £lO 2s 6d to £lO 6s, unfinished steers and forward condition do. £9 4s to £9 6s, fat beef cows (Polled Angus and Hereford) £6 to £6 12s, fat Polled Angus and Hereford heifers £6 5s to £7 Ils, fat Jersey cows £5 5s to £6 12s, heavy boner cows £3 8s to £4 4s, medium boner cows £2 18s to £3 ss, light boner cows £2 8s to £2 14s, cull cows 15s to 255, potter bulls 10s to 15s, 3-year Shorthorn steers £8 6s to £8 17s, 24 year Shorthorn steers £7 6s, one and a-half year Shorthorn steers £4 16s to £5 3s, Shorthorn steer calves £3 18s, cows and calves £4 Is to £5 13s.

Sheep: A small entry of store lambs and aged breeding eyes showed no change in values. We quote: Light forward wethers 245, woolly. store lambs 11s Id to 12s 7d, cull lambs 7s to 9s, aged ewes (r.w.b.) 14s 3d to 15s Id, small store wethers 14s.

Pigs: A good entry of all classes of pigs was yarded. Values for baconers remained firm at ruling rates, while porkers and buttermilk pigs were firmer. Store pigs and weaners are still dull of sale. We quote: Heavy choppers £2 to £3, lighter do £1 to £1 18s, heavy prime baconers £4 to £4 6s, medium baconers £3 12s to £3 17s, light baconers £3 5s to £3 10s, heavy porkers £2 16s to £3 3s, medium porkers £2 8s to £2 12s, light porkers £1 18s to £2 ss, small porkers £1 10s to £1 16s, large stores 18s to 255, medium stores 11s to 16s, slips 5s to 9s, weaners Is tp 4s.
