DON’T WASTE BREAD

Sir, —Our farmers have been asked to make a special effort to grow more wheat in order to provide bread for the people of New Zealand. This being the case, surely every man, woman and child should make it a personal matter, to see that no bread is wasted. Even a slice a day in each home would amount to a large number of loaves. There are many families who will only eat new bread; bread even a day old is thrown out. This is not right at any time, and under present conditions is very wrong, and, to say the least, unpatriotic. I hope that this matter will be taken up by those in a position to deal with it.—l am, etc., WASTE NOT WANT NOT.
