RED CROSS ENTERTAINS
CARD EVENING The Te Awamutu branch of the Red Cross held another of its fortnightly card evenings in the depot on Saturday last, when the large crowd present spent a thoroughly enjoyable time. The Five Hundred was won by Mrs R. G. Knight, the Bridge by Mr H. J. Boryer and the competition by Private J. Hutchinson. Among the ladies present were:— Mesdames C. G. Downes, C. Blundell, S. Clark, H. J. Boryer, S. Rickit, J. F. Brooks, A. G. Warburton, H. C. Rainey, R. J. Knight, A. H. Roberts, M. Jukes, J. Daws, E. Brown, E. Hopping, H. L. Marsh, L. Parish, S. Houston, A. V. Cole, J. Irwin, W. Mensforth, 0. O’Brien, S. J. Nobes, F. Warner, N. M. Thomson, J. Hutchinson, J. Russell and W. N. Smythe (Auckland), and Sisters Hayward and McLeod.
