A sample of hypocritical Japanese utterances: “Rumours to the effect that the national policy of Japan is imperialistic and aggressive are to be deplored. It is ignorance of the true motives of Japan that leads to such unfounded rumours. Since the foundation of the nation our aim has been peace and security. The national policy of Japan is benevolence directed toward the good development of all.
