THE OTOROHANGA BRANCH ELECTION OF OFFICERS At the annual meeting of the Otorohanga Women’s Institute, Mrs A. A. Smith presiding, the following officers were elected: — President: Mrs Murphy. Vice-Presidents: Mesdames Larsen and A. Smith; Secretary: Mrs Bauke. Treasurer: Mrs Neshausen. Committee: Mesdames Cameron, Church, Hall, Hoskin, Kay, Nicholson, R. Smith and Webster. Press reporter: Mrs Nicholson. Sales table: Mrs Hoskin. Monthly competition: Mrs Nicholson. Blooms: Mrs Hall. Tea convenor: Mrs Cameron. Social half-hour: Mrs Webster. Hall: Mrs R. Smith. War effort: Mrs A. Smith. It was decided that the Golden Thread for this year would be useful hints for members in the home i and country. The secretary and treasurer submitted satisfactory reports, which werel both adopted, after which the sub- 1 committees presented their statements! for the past year. The prizes for the year were award-1 ed -as follows: Mrs Webster, monthly! competition; Mrs Levien, large bloom;! Mrs Neshausen, small bloom; Mrs! Church, attendance; Mrs Hoskin, con-1 solation. An enjoyable afternoon concluded! with the serving of afternoon tea by I the retiring committee, followed byl the singing of the New Zealand Na-I tional Anthem.
