Of the 323 married men without children called in the last ballot and so far medically examined in Christchurch, 100 have been found unfit even for home service. The percentage of unfitness for military purposes (says the Press) is so far higher among the married men than the single men who enlisted or were called in the earlier 12 ballots. The figures may be improved when the medical boards survey the reports on the 57 men already examined but not graded. .
