SOLDIER FARMERS
ASSOCIATION FORMED MEETING AT ROTO-O-RANGI A well-attended meeting of Roto-o-Rangi farmers resulted in considerable headway being made in applying Mr A. P. Robinson’s proposals to the district’s needs concerning the protection of the interests of .farmers called for military service. It was emphasised by Mr Robinson in reply to questions that no voluntary executive could be expected to accept responsibility against claims arising from possible managerial losses. Therefore the registration of the movement as an association appeared to be the most practical course. After discussion a motion by Messrs Campin and S. Wallis that such a farmers’ association be formed was carried. The election of officers resulted : President, Mr A. P. Robinson; executive, Messrs V. H. Nolan, R. Martin; hon. secretary, Mr A. R. Gascoigne. It was decided to divide the district into suitable wards, the appointment of wardens to be left to the executive.
