LIVE STOCK MARKET SALE AT FRANKTON Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited, report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Frankton yesterday as follows: Cattle: A medium yarding of al) classes of fat cattle, came forward and met with competition a little easier than last week. We quote:— ’ Medium heavy fat bullocks £ll to £ll 10s; lighter £lO 15s to £ll 2s; fat P.A. cows from £7 9s to £8 Is; light fat Jersey cows from £4 to £5; heavy boners £3 2s to £3 16s; medium ditto £2 13s to £3; lighter 15s to £1 10s. Sheep: A lighter yarding than usual and in consequence there was a slight advance in prices—particularly for wethers. A medium entry of lambs sold at late rates. We quote: heavy prime fat wethers 24s ,‘to 25s 6d; medium to Iprfrne 22s 6d to 23s 9d; light 19s 6d to 225; eres prime 10s 6d to 11s 6d; lambs 18s to 21s 3d. Pigs: There was a particularly heavy yarding of both fat and store pigs. All classes of fats sold readily at full late market quotations with topweight baconers advancing in one instance to £4 2s, while the majority topweight baconers made from £4 to £4 Is. SALE AT CAMBRIDGE Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their triweekly stock sale at Cambridge op Monday, as follows:—There was a small yarding of both sheep and cattle. Competition was keen everything selling under the hammer at prices in advance of recent sales. Two pens of light fat heifers on account of Mr T. P. Hunt sold at £8 16s and ££ 13s respectivlely. We quote:— Cattle: Fat cows £6 to £8 10s; light fat heifers £7 15s to £9 13s; fat Jersey cows £4 15s to £5; heavy boners £3 7s to £3 17s; medium ditto £2 12s 6d to £3 Is; lighter ditto 17s to 30s. Sheep: Heavy fat lambs 25s 9d; lighter ditto 22s 9d to 23s 6d; forward store lambs 14s to 16s. Pigs: A good yarding of fat pigs came forward with a small yarding of stores and weaners. Fat pigs sold under good competition at prices firm on late rates. Weaners were easier but large stores were firm. We quote:—medium baconers £3 10s to £3 Ils; light £3 to £3 ss; medium porkers £2 10s to £2 16s; light ditto £2 to £2 7s; unfinished 35s to £2; large store pigs 30s to 355; medium 23s 6d to 295; choppers 27s to £2 15s; weaners 6s to 12s.
